Having been under heavy scrutiny in the wake of his jaunt to Brazil to celebrate his sister's birthday, Neymar made amends against Getafe. The Brazilian striker put on a stellar performance and silenced the critics who had questioned his recent form and, in doing so, show that his trip hadn't affected his playing one iota.
Neymar scored twice and was a constant threat to the Getafe defence. Barcelona found a veritable highway up the left wing, with both Neymar and Jordi Alba causing havoc. The fact that the Brazilian got his name on the scoring sheet in the process was also significant, given that the striker hadn't scored for several weeks. To be exact, Neymar hadn't scored since 20th February, during Barcelona's away match against UD Las Palmas.
Overtakes Benzema
With his brace against Getafe, Neymar is back on the right track. In fact, his two goals take him past Karim Benzema in the highest scorer ranking. The Brazilian's tally of 20 goals puts him in fourth place in the 'Pichichi' table.
